BrightWire Summer Internship Program

This Summer, BrightWire added two paid internship positions in cooperation with the South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) Internship Program. The program helps prepare students with job training opportunities related to their field of study at SPSCC.

Mikayla Bruchet joined BrightWire to assist with several marketing initiatives scheduled to go live in September. Mikayla is pursuing her interest in digital marketing and plans to transfer to a University program when she completes her Associate Degree at SPSCC. “My family owns a successful insurance brokerage here in Olympia, and I knew at a young age that I wanted to explore a career in business, but one that also had a creative side.” Mikayla explained.

The internship at BrightWire has helped her find that balance by allowing her to participate in weekly sales meetings, assist with the development of marketing material, and finding new ways to identify prospective clients.

Her creativity and eye for detail helped the BrightWire sales team in their effort to spread the word about the important IT services they provide. “I really enjoy the creative side of marketing, and this program gives me the chance to contribute to new marketing ideas BrightWire is doing to reach new clients.” She added.

Gareth Green also joined BrightWire this summer. Gareth is currently enrolled in the Network Administration program at SPSCC and is working with the technical services team at BrightWire. He is currently doing system prep work to build and deploy laptops and desktop workstations for BrightWire clients. “My time as an Intern here at BrightWire has been extremely positive. I’ve learned some good troubleshooting techniques, and even some important skills working directly with clients.” Gareth explained. “It’s been a very good addition to my studies at SPSCC.” He added.

Both Mikayla and Gareth believe that being an intern this summer, has helped them build a stronger foundation for their studies as they both now look forward to starting the Fall semester with a fresh perspective and new goals.
